Hi there, I am Evelyn!

Hi, I’m Evelyn — a certified yoga, breath work and pilates teacher based on the Gold Coast.

I came to yoga through my own journey of slowing down, reconnecting with my body, finding my authentic self and finding more balance in everyday life. My approach to teaching is to flow with the breath and creating meditative quality through movement. For me, it is not the final pose it is the growing that happens through the journey. Yoga is where we have a conversation with our body, listening and giving what our body needs. Whether you are completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, I want people to feel comfortable, welcome and free from pressure of performing Yoga.

My Approach to Yoga

My classes are inspired by traditional Himalayan Yoga combining poses, meditation and breathing mainly delivered through a flow – mindful movement, breath awareness and strength in a balanced and approachable way. I love creating sessions that feel grounding and energising at the same time — helping students build strength, improve mobility and reduce stress while reconnecting with their breath and body. Infusing the ancient Yoga philosophy that will bring Yoga off the mat to our daily life. I also infused the nutritional aspect of Yoga, known as Ayurveda to help create the state of balance in your body, mind and soul.

Rather than focusing on perfection or performance, I believe yoga is about creating more balance, awareness and wellbeing in everyday life.

Why I Teach Yoga

Yoga became much more than movement for me. It became a way to having a conversation with my body. With the busy world, we are getting more disconnected with our body and mind. I have been there where the wave of life just sweep me over and I lost myself in the wheel or routines and life expectations. Yoga gave me that quiet space where I can just “be” without expectations and judgement. I found myself again and started to get to know my authentic self. I would love to create such space for others to have that opportunity to reconnect with themselves, feel stronger, and be their authentic best version. Yoga and the breath taught me to face anything calmly and more grounded.
